Almost the end of the month

Sheesh! It’s been this long and I haven’t posted. Sorry guys. I’ve been way busy in life and I just haven’t had the time to post. So let me update you on some of the things that are going on in my life:

  • I got fired at my job at Sheetz for excessive absenteeism. Yep. My last day I worked was an 11-hour shift because an employee, who is usually late, called off and I covered to 2:00 in the morning. Then around 10:00 I got a call and I was fired. No worries though. That was last week. Within one week, I got a job at Wendy’s. I am taking a pay cut, but it’s a job. I need it to pay for my car and other things. So screw Sheetz.
  • My dog Wally had an operation for his teeth last Friday. Poor thing had five teeth pulled out and now it looks like all his upper teeth, except for his canines and front teeth are out. He’s doing well though. He’s eating dried dog food and chewing on bones.

Today, I took my family out for a celebration dinner to Texas Roadhouse. That place gets busy fast. Anyway, the guy takes us to a half-booth, half-table and my mom (who hates booths) and I end up on the table side. There is a guy who is right behind me who is big and I have to scoot all the way up to the table. Other than that it was okay. I just wish he had some manners and had scooted up. I know he had saw me. Anyway, I’ll update soon. I promise!

A good early birthday

Tomorrow is my birthday. I will officially be 35 years old and I really can’t believe it. I try to set goals for myself every year, but to tell the truth, this year I have no clue what kind of goals I want to set for myself. I guess I will figure it out tomorrow. Anyway, today I went out with my parents to Wal-Mart and I got a haircut. Which was nice because I needed it. My hair gets really thick quickly, plus I am trying to grow it long. I had it layered and the ends trimmed. Plus my eyebrows waxed. It was a nice ‘spa’ day. Then we went to Texas Roadhouse. I am glad Mama convinced me to go. I was going to go to Red Lobster because of the cheaper price. I had wanted to go to Fujiyama Steakhouse, but they are so expensive. So we went and I got a steak and surprise, I got a ‘Sex on the Beach’ cocktail from the bar. This is my favorite cocktail ever! My best friend (one of them) met at a convention and had this cocktail, got drunk, and have been best friends since. So it holds really good memories and still tastes great! What a good day. I’m just hoping that tomorrow will be as good as today. Bring on the 35. Talk soon.

This sucks

Well I can tell you that today has been another sucky day. My dad and I took my fur son, Wally, to the Vet to get a dental exam. We found out from the doctor that he will have to have most of his front teeth (including his canines) pulled out. His sister, of course, is nothing like this. I asked his doctor, Dr. Thomas (who we’ve had since we’ve been here), why he will have to have his teeth removed and Sabrina won’t. Apparently, it can be a multitude of things, but we think that it is because Wally does not chew his food in bites like Sabrina. He just grabs them and swallows them. I might have to get a food in smaller bites after this new food I got. Anyway, I will have to have his surgery done later in the year. His teeth are getting terrible and Dr. Thomas told us that it will be better to get it done as soon as possible.

My depression is coming back in. I noticed today I was rather snappy. I don’t know if it is because of the fact that I can’t go out on my own or what. I’m just rather…I don’t know what’s the matter with me any more. I have to get out of this depression somehow. Maybe take up cooking and baking again.

Today, for Mother’s Day, I did get Papa John’s. So that is something I hope not to get for a long, long time. Pizza is good, but I think the commercial type has more than we need. I bought more than I needed and I think since I am trying to lose weight I can’t do this anymore.

Well, that’s all for now. I’m hopping off.

I hate grocery shopping

Hey everyone,

I hate grocery shopping during Thanksgiving time. I really do. Today, my family went out with my nephew to go shopping at Kroger. As usual, it was hell in a hand basket, but even worse now that it is two days away from Thanksgiving. There were a lot of people in the store and everyone was just plain rude. Look, I know you have a life and have to get stuff, but I do to. Have a little class and be polite. It gets you farther than being rude. It was also crowded because it was senior citizen day at Kroger and probably people wanted to get a lot of discounts off a lot of things. Still there is no reason to be rude. We were there for about an hour and the only real nice people I found were the deli lady and a Salvation Army guy who I went back to because I had to pass with the cart. He was very courteous. I’m doing my Christmas shopping early. I tell you. So what’s for Thanksgiving? Here’s what we’re making:

  • Turkey Breast
  • Ham
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Deviled Eggs (I’m making)
  • Pan-fried Asparagus
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Fruit Salad
  • Buttermilk Salad
  • Chocolate Pudding Pie (Me again)
  • Crescent Rolls

So that’s all for now. I’ll be making the pies tomorrow. So I have to get to that in the morning. Anyway, hope you all were smart and shopped early. Talk soon.

A frigging busy day

Hello everyone,

Today has been really busy for me. I planned to go to the Rec Center to swim, however, I didn’t due to the fact that my eye was started to leak pus again. Ugh. I’m still a little sick, but I don’t know why the symptoms are coming back. Maybe the amoxicillin isn’t working as well or my body is getting too used to it. I don’t know.

Well I can’t go tomorrow. My parents new furniture is coming in and I have to stay and help with the arrangements. We have a new dining room set, a desk, and a new entertainment center coming in tomorrow. They picked it out and it will probably be going to me later on in life. Hope that isn’t soon though.

Besides that, I have a new hobby. I’ve been hand embroidering. Tonight at Walmart I got some iron-on patterns and a couple of tea towels to work on. I’ve been working on some crappy material that I drew some Halloween-type patterns on. I liked it. Gave one to my nephew yesterday, who used it as a handkerchief. :] Oh well. Not like it’s anything big. 🙂 On Monday, I go to my embroidery class.

Also, today I went on one of the Supermarket Safari’s with the Finding Wellness class. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. I think I am going to be looking a lot at the packages and maybe trying to make my own stocks. This weekend I am going to venture to make my own gnocchi. Here goes. *fingers crossed* Well that’s all for now. Hope I stop feeling so sore. Talk soon.

It’s been a few, sorry

Hey everyone,

I’m sorry it’s been a few since I have posted. Life has just been going up and down for me. Well today was a pretty good day. I got up early with my parents and went to Bridgeport, WV to a quilt show with them. I’m not big into quilts like they are, but it got us out of the house and they were excited to do something rather than sit around all day. They’re were some pretty quilts at the show though. I saw one that had a skeleton on it. I like skeletons and skulls. It’s one of my things.

So after that we went to D.J.’s 50s and 60s Diner. It was our second time and it was as good as the first. Go to to see my review of it. We then went to Barnes & Noble and purchased some books to support the Rainelle Library. The people of Rainelle, WV lost their library in a flood. So we wanted to help by buying some books to help contribute money to the cause. I’m hoping that they get enough money to start rebuilding soon.

The week has been okay. I just have to do better next week considering food choices. Which I will update you on tomorrow. Have a good night.

Been a long week

Hello everyone,

Sorry I haven’t posted much so far. It’s been a very long week for me. On Monday, it was my sister’s birthday and we didn’t know until about 11:00 that we were going to surprise her with a pizza and cake party. So we picked up my nephew and had him out for a little while then it rained like crazy and my poor sister got drenched helping us get into her house. We had a good time though. We went to Walmart before hand and got a card for my nephew to sign and a present to give to her from him. It was so cute. He said, ‘I got this from Walmart.’ We all laughed.

Tuesday, we went out and took care of some stuff relating to the house. We will be getting the blinds installed on the 9th of August. OMG, I have to wait two more weeks. It’s worth it though. We had lunch at Garfield’s. I also went to Elder-Beerman with my mom and got two silk nightgowns. I call them silkies because when I was little my sister and I would love to run around with my mother’s silk night gowns around our necks and take them everywhere. You don’t often find the type I like too often.

Wednesday was a lazy day. Mostly slept during the day with a bad migraine. If the headaches and migraines don’t get better, I am seriously considering Botox treatments.

Thursday, I got a message from one of my best friends to call her about an issue she was having. We spent over an hour talking on the phone. I go down in August to pick up one of my other friends to stay with me in Morgantown for Pagan Pride Day, however, I promised my other friend that I would stay with her the night before. So I am looking forward to go down on the 25th and seeing her and her family.

The Harry Potter book is coming out on Sunday, so I am waiting excitedly for that. Don’t know what else is going on this weekend. Well, I will update you soon. Have a good one!
